With 30 years of experience in the field of private school education both in the US and overseas, Hamilton Gregg brings extensive knowledge and experience to HGIEC. Of those 30 years, 12 years were spent working in selective boarding schools on three continents. As well, he has worked in the field of college counseling for 18 years, building a trusted relationship with colleges and universities in many countries.
HGIEC is not an agent. Neither the company nor it’s founder is paid by institutions to “place” students. HGIEC works on a yearly contractual basis with each family.
HGIEC is a Independent College and Boarding School Consultant working on behalf of the client to find the right school to meet the educational needs of the student. Unlike Agents who are paid to "place" students in particular institutions, HGIEC owes its allegiance to the client, allowing for objectivity when making institutional recommendations.
HGIEC will help families build a realistic education plan. Given the competitive nature of admission in both selective boarding schools and institutions of higher education, HGIEC cannot guarantee admission to any particular school. It is expected however, if the student follows the Education Plan, the student will have choices that meet his/her educational needs.

About HGIEC
Hamilton Gregg has lived in Beijing since 2002. Over that time he has noticed the lack of qualified Educational Consultants in Beijing. There are many Agents, but no true Independent Education Consultants. As more and more students and families in Beijing and China are looking for educational opportunities beyond the Mainland, there is a real need for a Consultant with extensive experience to assist families through the complicated process of finding and applying to prep schools and universities in the US, Canada, and other destinations.
The breadth and depth of institutional offerings require students and their families to take time investigating which ones fit their personal, social and academic requirements. HGIEC can help unload the burden of finding the appropriate list of "fit" schools to match these expectations. It is important to note that HGIEC does not work for any institution or organization, but adheres to the best practices and procedures of the National Association of College Admission Counselors and the Independent Educational Consultants Associations.
HGIEC works on a contract basis. The expectations are that the student and the Consultant will commit to the requirements laid out in the Personal Agreement to Services Contract.
